This is a vintage cigarette case from Japan's Taisho Period (1920s) featuring a skillfully hand-carved gold sky dragon emerging from the wind and clouds.
 
The gold used for the dragon does not appear to be 24K, so it is likely an alloy or gold plated, based on the fading of it in some areas.  The case itself appears to be silver, but we're not certain of that.  In any case, it's a very rare and cool vintage item that would no doubt impress!
 
It's quite old and it definitely shows signs of use, but the wear does give it some character.  However, if you're looking for a mint or near mint case, you should avoid purchasing this item.  That being said, it can still be used daily as intended; opens and snaps shut nicely!  The photos show everything, so please see and judge from the images provided.
