About this classic shunga series: "Today one of Kunisada's most valued works, Shunka shuto shiki no nagame is exquisitely printed and would have been an expensive book to produce. This indicates that it may have been a commission by a wealthy townsmen. The appeal of this album lies in the clarity of the imagery, which is not cluttered by surrounding blocks of texts."
Excerpt from P.190 of Japanese Erotic Fantasies by Chris Uhlenbeck and Margarita Winkel.
A gorgeous, and quite comical, shunga scene of a sly male clearly doing some heavy flirting with his acquaintance's female partner. She's readily receptive to it too, as she opens her legs for him. Unfortunately for her true partner, he's in too deep a slumber to notice any of their misbehavior.
